The "People's Award" International Short Film Festival is held in Quito, Ecuador, and its mission is to promote artistic or alternative films that contribute to the better knowledge and understanding of world filmmaking. - All submitted videos participate. There is NO preselection process. People are the jury, we do not have a jury
Deadline:
January 21, 2013. The festival will take place in February 2013
First Prize:
US$ 1,000 in cash and a trophy to the best short film. A trphy to the best short in each category.
Categories:
1) Documentary
2) Fiction
3) Experimental
4) 1 minute (exact length must be one minute)
5) Animation
6) SMS /TABLET
Format:
It could be in any format. The video has to be uploaded in youtube, vimeo or any other on line streaming service.
Language:
In English or any language with English subtitles.
Maximum length:
30 minutes including credits, except in the '1 minute' category.
Registration fee:
US$ 65 for each film submitted.
Warnings:
- There are no refunds. Any defective video will be automatically disqualified without a refund.
- The festival is not responsible for the wrongful use of the films by the authors or third parties.
- In the case of a technical tie ( in total points ), the winners will share the prize in equal portions.
- Films cannot have participated in previous editions of this festival.
- The festival reserves the right to use the films partially or completely in order to promote the event.
- A digital catalogue will be published in PDF and will be available for download.
- The festival will define the projection schedule. Once you have submitted a film, you cannot withdraw it. Contestants will not know when their film will be shown.
